Todd Hickerson began his professional training career in 1992. He spent many years training under some of the best known names in the industry. Many regional and national wins. The most recent being 2008 Canadian National Champion Arabian Park class, this exciting win followed the 2008 Scottsdale Reserve Champion Arabian Park. Todd is able to take a horse from pasture to finish, all awhile being sure that the physical and mental wellness of the horse is the number one concern. His concern and practice of caring for these amazing athletes started at a very young age. Todd completed his first 50 mile endurance ride at the age of 8. Under the watchful eye of many professionals he learned that caring for the horse is not only crucial to finish that ride – but for the future of all other events.
Todd met his wife Karstin while working in Southern California. Married in 1997, together they have two boys, Cameron and Tyler, and reside on the farm. Both Todd and Karstin feel blessed to be able raise their family in the country, as well as be able to have such a wonderful group of clients that have entrusted them with the care of their very special horses. Both Cameron and Tyler enjoy the horses not only and home – but also in the show arena. Cameron was Top Ten at the Canadian Nationals in the Country English Pleasure 10 and under. Tyler has recently taken up jumping, at 5 years old, and is looking forward to showing his Half Arabian pony at a few local shows in 2009. As a family they truly enjoy the horses.
Karstin attended Colorado State University and is certified in artificial collection and insemination. With the necessary equipment, certifications, and experience needed for collection, Todd and Karstin are able to offer a full services breeding facility for both Mare and Stallion owners. Each year they, and the boys, are very excited about the babies that they have bred for themselves and clients.
